Released in 1989, this is quite possibly one of British Airways’ most iconic TV adverts. The advert shows large groups of people making the shape of an eye, nose and mouth as viewed from above. The shapes come together to make a face that winks. The tagline is “Every year, the world’s favourite airline brings 24 million people together”.
The Music in the Advert
The music used in the iconic 1989 British Airways advert is a song called ‘Aria on Air’ by Malcolm McLaren and Yanni and Malcolm. The track is an adaptation of the Flower Duet from Léo Delibes’ 1883 opera Lakmé.
