Virgin Trains show a women contemplating either taking the train or using other forms of transport to get to her interview. The advert predicts how it would be a much smarter decision to use Virgin Trains vs a car or a plane that will but much more stressful.
To reflect the relaxing train journey vs the stresses of a plane or a car, they use Spandau Ballet’s True or some highly charged rock music respectively.
The music track in the advert has caused some controversy in the news as American deathcore band Carnifex claim it is their song, “Answers In Mourning” and was mislabelled as thrash metal. Not to mention they were used negatively as the “bad” side of not taking a Virgin Train to work. They claim that Virgin did not ask their permission to use their music either resulting in a twitter row. Carnifex are not pleased with Virgin Trains!
