John Lewis raise awareness of their new brand “John Lewis & Partners” and “Waitrose & Partners” with this epic 150 second long school concert scene.
It is immediately clear which song is going to be sung as 4 children appear from behind the curtain illuminating their heads with torches to reproduce the opening to the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody.
The children go on to use all kinds of props such as space suits, space ships and a huge rocket piloted by an electric guitar playing girl for the finale.
The music in the John Lewis School Concert 2018 advert
Music: Bohemian Rhapsody | Artist: Queen
The music performed by the children in the advert is a cover of the unmistakable 1975 hit Bohemian Rhapsody by British rock band Queen. The six-minute song was written by the late Freddie Mercury for the band’s album A Night At The Opera and became famous for not only its length but how the song is split in to sections from opera to rock.
The song enjoyed great success staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks in 1975-1976 and later reaching number one again in 1991 when the track was re-released following Freddie Mercury’s death. The track can be downloaded from the music services below.
