This TV trailer promotes Rambo V: Last Blood, the fifth instalment in the Rambo franchise following Rambo (2008). The movie sees the return of Sylvester Stallone as John J. Rambo who comes out of seclusion to take on a Mexican cartel to rescue his friend’s daughter after she is kidnapped. Stallone, now 72, who co-wrote the script for Last Blood, first played Rambo in the 1982 film First Blood. The second film Rambo: First Blood Part II was released in 1985 and the third, Rambo III, in 1988. Twenty years later, the fourth instalment – simply called Rambo – hit theatres on January 23, 2008. Last Blood hits theatres on September 20, 2019.

The song in the Rambo Last Blood trailer is “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus) by American rapper Lil Nas X. The original track with the lyrics “Yeah, I’m gonna take my horse to the old town road” was released independently in December 2018 gaining popularity on social video sharing app TikTok. As a result of the track’s success, Lil Nas X was signed to Columbia Records, which now distributes the single. The version in this trailer is the remix featuring American singer, songwriter Billy Ray Cyrus released April 2019.
