Wimbledon promote the most celebrated grand slam event in the Tennis calendar with this trailer for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships 2019 at the All England Lawn Tennis club in London. The video follows a similar theme to last year’s ‘Take On History‘ trailer once again focusing on historical events. This time the promotion selects some of the news headlines from the historic tournament’s archive such as the first colour broadcast, Bjorn Borg’s incredible career, the successes of Boris Becker and Steffi Graph helping the country re-unite after the fall of the Berlin Wall and Billie Jean King’s role in equality in tennis. There are too many to mention here.
When is Wimbledon 2019?
Wimbledon 2019 is scheduled to start on 01 July running for 14 days with live coverage across all the BBC services including TV, radio and online. The tournament is also aired worldwide by a variety of different broadcasters.
The music in the advert

The music in the trailer for Wimbledon 2019 is a classical rendition of the 1994 hit “Live Forever” recorded by English rock band Oasis. The track was written in 1991 by Noel Gallagher but not released until the Gallagher brothers formed the band and released the song as the third single from the band’s debut album “Definitely Maybe”. The original Oasis version can be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon Music.
