Xbox promote the latest chapter of the Gears of War franchise with this epic trailer video featuring music by Amy Lee. The game stars a new, female protagonist Kait Diaz.
With a new character-led drama, players follow the hero who is torn between her loyalty to her squad and a mysterious pull to her enemy. The trailer follows Kait’s personal journey as she overcomes fear and battles with both reality and fantasy. Gears 5 is playable with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from September 6th, and will be available everywhere on September 10th.

The music in the Xbox Gears trailer is a cover version of “The Chain”, a song released in 1977 by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. The version in the advert is performed by Evanescence lead vocalist, Amy Lee. The remastered version was formed in a collaboration between the American singer-songwriter and Xbox especially for the Gears franchise. The song was designed to reflect the dark nature of Kait’s journey in the game. At the point of writing, the track is not commercially available.
