This new advert by BT titled ‘Best of Times – Beyond Limits’ features a schoolgirl reciting words of the historical novel Tale of Two Cities by English writer Charles Dickens.
The girl begins by citing “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” as she walks to school. As she enters the classroom she continues “we had everything before us, we had nothing before us.”
It’s quite humbling that these words were written way back in 1859, yet they are still very relevant today. This commercial follows the launch of the British Telecoms company’s new branding. The ad concludes by saying that “The future is ours to take” and that BT are “working to give 5 million children the skills they need”.

The music in the background of the BT Beyond Limits advert is the backing track to the 2017 hit “Blinded By Your Grace” by English rapper Stormzy featuring British producer MNEK. The song was released as the fourth single from Stormzy’s debut studio album ‘Gangs, Signs & Prayer’. The single peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart.
