This Argos Christmas 2019 TV advert titled “The Book Of Dreams” tells the story of a father at home looking through the new Argos book for which his daughter has circled her dream present for Christmas – A drum kit. He sits back in his chair in thought back and says “hmm” when suddenly the table splits in two to reveal the drum kit.
The kitchen then transforms into the scene of a gig with smoke pouring from the fridge and oven bulbs beaming as stage lights. The father then begins to drum along to an aptly named 80s classic song (more below).
Awoken by the noise, his daughter joins him to give the performance of their lives on two brand new drumkits! Keen eyed viewers may notice that the advert also features Cubby The Curious Bear – one of the toys that’s a predicted top seller during this year’s Christmas season.

The music in the Argos Christmas 2019 Advert is the 80s classic song “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” performed by Scottish rock band Simple Minds. The song was written and composed by English record producer Keith Forsey and Steve Schiff while scoring the American Teen comedy ‘The Breakfast Club’ in 1984. The track was released as a single in 1985 and enjoyed great success reaching number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 7 in the UK Singles Chart (although despite not reaching the top, the song enjoyed great longevity in the UK Chart between 1985 and 1987).
