Mariah Carey stars in this Christmas advert for Walkers Crisps which celebrates the 25th anniversary
of the song “All I Want for Christmas is you”.
The festive campaign promotes Walkers’ new Christmas flavours. The commercial features Mariah handing out presents that progressively get more ridiculous as the advert goes on. This includes a kimono framed painting of Mariah riding a winged unicorn as the star says “I love Christmas. It’s magical time. A time for giving, a time for caring, a time for sharing.” Towards the end of the advert, she reaches for some new Pigs in Blankets flavour pack of crisps at the same time as a Christmas elf. The pair grapple with the packet and Carey’s last move is to sing the famous “high note” in an attempt to get the elf to drop the bag. Everybody holds their ears in pain and the high vocals even manage to shatter a pair of glasses being worn by one man. The ad concludes with the tagline: “Walkers, too good to share.”

The music in the Walkers Crisps Christmas 2019 Advert is the classic Christmas song “All I Want for Christmas is you”. Recorded in 1994 this year marks the 25th anniversary of the track which is written and performed by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey (who stars throughout the advert). The song is the lead single from her fourth studio album and first holiday album, Merry Christmas. The song is a Christmas classic which enjoys plenty of exposure every year during the festive period.
