Channel 4 have released this trailer for a new animated cartoon of the classic children’s book The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr.
The classic story published in 1968 has been reinvented especially for Christmas and stars voice-overs by Benedict Cumberbatch and David Oyelowo. The original 1968 book follows young girl Sophie, her mother and a tiger who joins them for a hilariously chaotic teatime meal. The animated special is scheduled to air on Christmas Eve at 7:30pm on Channel 4.
The music in the Trailer
Music: Hey Tiger! | Artist : Robbie Williams
The music in the Channel 4 trailer for The Tiger Who Came To Tea is a song especially written by composer David Arnold and lyricist Don Black, OBE. The vocals for the advert were performed by English singer-songwriter and entertainer Robbie Williams who champions this classic story.
The father of three children Coco, 12 months, Teddy, six, and four-year-old Charlie with wife Ayda Field – said he has read the book with his daughter 150 times.
“This book has played a big part in me bonding with my kids. I’ve read it possibly 150 times to Teddy, and she is the reason I’m singing the song I’m honouring those moments with her.”
A full soundtrack will be commercially released on Christmas Eve in tandem with the premier airing.
