Smirnoff – Infamous since 1864

This new advert by Smirnoff titled ‘Infamous since 1864’ tells us the secret story of bottles of vodka being smuggled from person to person.


The covert operation spans the globe with a man fleeing on a train from Russia. A bottle is then hidden in America, exiled in France and traded in secret. The commercial concludes by the bottle being infiltrated in Hollywood and its current whereabouts are known.

The music in the Smirnoff Infamous since 1864 advert is a cover version of the 1995 song ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya’ by American rapper and producer Russell Tyrone Jones (better known by his controversial stage name Ol’ Dirty Bastard). The song is taken from the studio album “Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version”. The cover version of this track in the advert is currently unknown.
