Samsung invite viewers to Connect ‘Your Galaxy This Holiday’ with this Star Wars themed TV advert.
In the commercial we are introduced to ‘Chewie Dog’, a dog that resembles the Wookiee character Chewbacca. A man working at an animal rehoming centre posts a photo of the dog on social media using the hashtag #RescueChewieDog. We see a young boy repeatedly dropping hints to adopt him by repeatedly sharing the picture to his reluctant father.
Eventually he caves in and takes the boy to the animal shelter. On arrival they see the dog has just been re-homed. However, they notice a cat as a hooded figure resembling the emperor (as the music changes).
The was released to tie in with The Rise of Skywalker Episode IX movie which premiered in cinemas in mid-December ready for the festive period.

The music in the Samsung Connect Your Galaxy advert is the instantly recognisable Star Wars theme tune ‘The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme)’. The music was recorded by film score composer John Williams. He is widely considered as one of the greatest film composers of all time producing some of the most recognisable pieces of music over six decades.
Williams has worked with many well known directors and producers including Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas and Richard Donner. As well as the Star Wars franchise, Williams has composed scores for the Indiana Jones series, The Extra Terrestrial, Superman series, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Home Alone and many more.
