This new Amazon Alexa Superbowl advert features presenter and comedian Ellen DeGeneres who asks the smart device to turn down the thermostat while she and her wife (Portia de Rossi) fet ready to leave the house.
Ellen then asks “What do you think people did before Alexa?”. The ad then journeys through history showing the crazy scenarios that ensue without a modern, electronic version of Alexa. We see servants smashing windows to turn the temperature down, jesters struggling to tell jokes and a paper boy delivering the latest news on the street. We also see a bird failing to deliver a message. The commercial then concludes back with Ellen and Portia in the car where Ellen asks Alexa to play her favourite song.
