This Easyjet 2022 advert titled nextGen Easyjet claims to “keep the dream of travel alive”. The campaign highlights the positive environmental policies of the travel company and their efforts to stay competitive at the same time.
In the ad we see a large crowd of people waving their arms and seemingly starting to fly. The crowd grows in to a swarm much like a murmuration of starlings. We then see a woman ‘landing’ t her dream holiday destination at a lake surrounded by mountains. She then runs and jumps in to the water.
Meanwhile the swarm continues in the shape of an aeroplane (note that unusually, we have not yet seen a real aeroplane more than 30-seoncds in to this Easyjet commercial.
Eventually more people land at more destinations as a voice-over says “we’re keeping the dream of travel alive. That’s why we offset the carbon emissions from every single flight and holiday while keeping fares low”. The advert concludes with viewers finally seeing an Easyjet plane in it’s iconic orange livery flying in to the sunset.

The music in the nextGen Easyjet 2022 advert is a song called ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’ recorded in 1973 by Brazilian musician, composer and record producer Eumir Deodato.
The track is Deodato’s more jazzy and funky rendition of Richard Strauss’ famous tone peom composed in 1896. The musical piece was famously used in the epic 1968 science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey which arguably made the composition so well-known.
