Clothing retailer Gap will soon be releasing their Christmas 2021 advert titled “All together now”. The minute-long ad stars American singer-songwriter Katy Perry as she star wakes up, pulls off her eye mask and begins singing her rendition of a classic Beatles song.
Perry gets ready for a day on the set by running on the treadmill, putting on a make-up mask and slipping on a Gap sweatshirt, baseball hat and dark shades to make the trek from her chauffeured Tesla to a film set.
The “All together now” title is a nod to Paul McCartney’s line in the chorus of the song.

The music in the Gap Christmas 2021 advert is a cover version of the Beatles classic 1967 hit “All You Need Is Love”. Written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon-McCartney partnership, “All You Need Is Love” was Britain’s contribution to “Our World”, the first live global television link. The English rock band performed the song live for the event at EMI studios in London in 25 June 1967.
Who’s singing the song in the Gap Advert ?
The cover version of “All You Need Is Love” in the the Gap advert is performed by American singer-songwriter Katy Perry. She released the song on her YouTube Channel on 25 October and is also commercially available to download.
Perry has released the cover version to raise funds for the charity Baby2Baby which gifts baby and children’s clothes and items to families in need. The 37-year-old popstar became a mother for the first time to daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she has with fiancé Orlando Bloom. She has teamed up with Spotify to donate $1 of every stream of the track to the non-profit organisation.
