This new advert for Jaffa Cakes by McVitie’s features a dance song by Bizarre Inc. In the short commercial we see a man about to stack the shelves of a store with Jaffa Cakes.
In the full advert, hes talking about the long-standing debate about whether Jaffa Cakes are a cake or a biscuit.
He eats one from a box and has a surprised expression. He is then transformed as if he is on stage about to perform in a flamboyant outfit. The advert concludes with a slogan saying “If a cake can be a biscuit you can be anything”.

The music in the 2021 McVitie’s Jaffa Cake advert is an electro-dance song called ‘Playing with Knives’ that was released in 1991 by British electronic dance music group Bizarre Inc.
The song was the group’s fourth single and the first single released form their full-length album “Energique”.
The song reached number 43 in the UK Singles Chart in 1991. It was re-released later the same year peaking at number 4 in the UK Singles Chart. Released for the third time, the song reached number 30 in the UK Singles Chart in 1999.
