Marks & Spencer has launched it’s 2020 Christmas advert featuring an all-star line up and a focus on charity. This first first instalment features a voice-over by English actress Olivia Colman.
The retailer is launching a new advert every week in the lead up to Christmas each with voice-overs by various celebrities. The list includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Eddie Redmayne, Gillian Anderson, Dame Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Dame Julie Walters, Naomie Harris and Tom Hardy.
M&S are putting charity at the heart of their campaign this year pledging to donate £2 million towards good causes. Also, each time a customer on the Sparks loyalty scheme shops at M&S in-store or online, the retailer will donate to their selected charity.

The music in the M&S Food 2020 Christmas advert is the guitar-based instrumental called “Albatross” by British-American band Fleetwood Mac in 1968. This music has been used throughout many M&S advertising campaigns. The song was composed by British singer-songwriter Peter Green and became a major hit in several countries reaching number one in the UK Singles Chart in 1969.
