The music in the advert

Music: The Rockafeller Skank | Artist : Fatboy Slim

The music in the Sport England Join the movement advert is a 1998 electro-pop song “The Rockafeller Skank”” recorded by big beat musician and DJ Fatboy Slim (real name Norman Cook).

The song features repetitive lyrics “Right about now, the funk soul brother, Check it out now, the funk soul brother”. This is a truncated vocal sample of the track “I Fought the Law” by American rapper Lord Finesse. The song features many other samples as well. As a result, Fatboy Slim released 100% of the royalties to each artist who’s track was sampled.

The song reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart, number 1 in Iceland and topped the UK Indie chart.
