This new Uber advert titled ‘Your Uber Awaits’ celebrates the easing of lockdown restrictions by welcoming back its customers.
Set to a song by American musician Ace Frehley, the advert shows a series of common lockdown endeavours such as puzzle-solving, indoor exercise and breadmaking. We then see people leaving their homes to venture outside and interact with the outside world again (still wearing masks of course).
We’re recently getting a welcome string of adverts and campaigns from various brands all with the same message. They are intending to welcome back their customers as coronavirus lockdown restrictions ease across the UK.
What’s the song in the 2021 Uber advert ?

The music in the Your Uber Awaits advert is a song called “New York Groove” written in 1975 by English singer-songwriter Russ Ballard. New York Groove was first recorded in 1975 by English glam rock band ‘Hello’ which peaked at number 9 in the UK Singles Chart.
In the ad we hear the lyrics “Many years since I was here
On the street I was passin’ my time away
To the left and to the right
Buildings towering to the sky, it’s outta sight
In the dead of night
Here I am, and in this city
(Oooh, ooh-ooh-ooh) With a fistful of dollars, and baby, you’d better believe
I’m back, back in the New York groove
I’m back, back in the New York groove
I’m back, back in the New York groove
Back, in the New York groove
In the New York groove”
