This new Vodafone Christmas 2020 advert titled ‘Magic of Connection’ features a song by Andra Day while promoting 5G VR streaming.
In the commercial we see a boy with his leg is a cast at home trying to entertain himself. His sister and friends are enjoying themselves outside in the snow as the boy watches with envy from his bedroom window.
Suddenly the boy’s father hands him a mobile phone with his sister calling saying “Look under your bed”. He discovers a box underneath his bed which contains a VR headset. To his delight he is able to experience all the fun with his sister using head mounted webcam streaming over Vodafone’s 5G network.
The telecomms company uses the hashtag #KeepConnecting at the end of the commercial.

The music in the Vodafone Christmas 2020 advert is a song called “Rise Up” released in 2015 by Californian singer-songwriter Andra Day. The track features as the second single from Day’s debut album ‘Cheers to the Fall’.
At the 2016 Grammy Awards, her album was nominated for Best R&B Album. “Rise Up”, was nominated for Best R&B Performance.
