This BBC trailer exclaims that “Wimbledon is back” after a two-year wait due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Set to An early 90’s song by CeCe Peniston, the advert shows viewers snippets of Wimbledon gameplay from previous years.
The ad features various star players including 2019 champions Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep. We see the return of British former world number 1 Andy Murray after a long four year wait following setbacks, injuries and hip surgery.
We will also see current British singles number one Dan Evans take to the grass. The promotional video also stars US tennis giants Serena Williams and Roger Federer.

The music in the BBC Wimbledon 2021 advert trailer is a song called ‘Finally’ that was released in 1991 as a debut single. The single became Peniston’s first (and biggest) hit song, peaking at number two in the UK Singles Chart and number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 in January 1992. The song CeCe’s only US top-ten hit to date.
“Finally” is also the title track to Peniston’s debut album of the same name.
